Eurasian Womens Forum in Russia and the Issue of Osteoporosis Prevention

From September 19 to September 21, the Eurasian Womens Forum worked in St. Petersburg. This is an important platform for discussing the role of women in modern society and their health. It was attended by representatives of more than 110 countries.

The Forum was organized by the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the States- Participants of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The theme of the Forum was “Women for global security and sustainable development”.

Olga Khitrova, a deputy of the Yaroslavl Regional Duma, a member of the  “OSTEORUS” Patient society and the chairperson of the Yaroslavl Regional Union of Women, took part in this significant forum.

The Patient society "OSTEORUS" has  partner relationship with this organization  focusing on  educational work on the prevention of osteoporosis in Yaroslavl and the Yaroslavl region.

Olga Khitrova became a participant in the discussion “Health of Women of All Ages” aimed at implementing the “National Strategy of Action for Women until 2022”.

She marked  the fruitful work of the “OSTEORUS “  Patient  society under the leadership of Professor Olga Ershova, Vice-President of the Russian Association on Osteoporosis (RAOP). in the direction of the prevention of osteoporosis in our country .Within the framework of the resolution, it was recommended to conduct a broad information campaign in Russia, where womens health issues are considered as an opportunity to maintain an active life position for as long as possible.
